Short plant description of
HU390 in culture
Diameter of the cultured plant is about
12 cm.
Plant height without cephalium 8 cm.
The colour of the epidermis is green to pale green.
Number of ribs 12 to13.
Number of areoles per rib is 5 to 6 on plants with
cephalium.
The shape of the areoles is oval.
The number of lateral spines is 9 to 11.
The length of the lateral spines is 3 to 5 cm.
The number of central spines is 1 to 2 with a length
of 4 to 6 cm.
The shape of the the lateral spines is slightly
recurved backwards and the colour is white to light brown. The central
spines are thicker and arising perpendicular and they are at the top a little
bit curving.
The colour of the cephalium is
white. The colour of the fruit is red.

D.albispinus belongs to
the group D.zehntneri of which also
D. araneispinus, D. boomianus, D. zehntneri v. horstiorum en
D. buenekeri form part
of.
